The project consists of the construction of a new swimming pool as the second phase of the Sports Building at Clongowes. It is to be located as an extension to the west.
Accommodation consists of
Basement: Plantroom and services distribution
Ground Floor: Entrance hall, pool hall, changing rooms and ancillary accommodation
First Floor: Aerobics and classroom areas with ancillary space including an external viewing terrace overlooking the all-weather pitch and a continuation/link with the first floor access gallery along the north elevation.
Second Floor: Plantroom.
Site Works: This is restricted to paving and roads around the building to accommodate pedestrian, vehicular and emergency vehicle circulation.
Externally the building will be finished in brick, glass and black zinc to match the existing Sports Hall.
Internal finishes will consist of ceramic tiling, fairfaced concrete and other suitable durable materials.
The roof structure will incorporate glu-lam beams, steel beams and steel decking aswell as rooflighting.
